Muscat, 4 Dec (ONA) — The Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers today announced the results of a public poll that allowed members of society to choose topics for discussion at the second edition of a forum titled “Together We Make Progress”. The forum, the second of its kind, seeks to enhance communication and interaction between the government and society.
The voting period, which started on 9 November 2023, saw a large turnout, with as many as 4,664 respondents expressing their opinion about topics deemed significant for the community.
The outcome was that the theme of “Society and Citizenship” attracted the majority of votes (48%), followed by “Future Oman” theme (27%) and “Investment and Economy” theme (25%).
Asked to propose topics other than the ones listed for the poll, the participants chose “Labour market and employment” as the most popular topic worthy of discussion.
Accordingly, it has been decided that the forthcoming forum would discuss the following topics: education, higher education, research and innovation, health, the social protection scheme, culture, sports, youth, media, the labour market and employment.
