A workshop on “Enhancing the Capabilities of Small and Medium Enterprises” was conducted to explore the added value, incentives, privileges, and financial programs available to Omani small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The workshop targeted 80 SMEs in the Dhofar Governorate and was organized through collaboration between the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, the Tender Board, and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s branch in Dhofar.
The workshop featured a visual presentation titled “The Added Local Value” to familiarize SMEs with the incentives and privileges provided, financial programs, supplier development program, business opportunities platforms, and supplier development.
The program encompassed supplier development through training, enhancing core skills to meet the requirements for platform operations, proposal preparation, content analysis, negotiation skills, and presentation preparation. It also included practical training on opportunity analysis, preparing procurement documents, communication mechanisms, progressing opportunities, understanding the needs and requirements of opportunity providers, and registering suppliers.
The objective of the workshop is to enhance the capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby increasing their chances of securing procurement contracts and other services by preparing, empowering, and enabling them to execute projects according to the targeted sectors.
