“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”
In response to the extraordinary weather conditions currently impacting the Sultanate of Oman, the National Committee for Emergency Management has coordinated measures to ensure the safety and well-being of workers in both the public and private sectors. As a result, official holidays have been announced for the 23rd and 24th of October 2023. This holiday declaration applies to employees within the state’s administrative apparatus and other relevant entities, as well as to those working in the private sector in regions directly affected by the tropical conditions.
While private sector businesses have the option to operate on these specified days if it is deemed necessary, they are required to strictly observe essential safety precautions and health regulations. The condition for such operation is that they must compensate their employees for the time worked during the holiday period.
