(QNA) – The Doha-based Arab Educational Training Center for the Gulf States celebrated Monday obtaining international CPD accreditation from the Professional Development Organization in London.
The celebration was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, HH Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud, and HE UNESCO Director of Doha Office for Gulf States Region and Yemen Salah Al-Din Zaki Khalid.
In a speech on the occasion, Director of the Arab Center for Educational Training for the Gulf States, Dr. Fatima Ghanem Al Maadeed said that this accreditation is one of the best international accreditations for training activities in the world, because it provides a framework for continuous learning and development, enhancing ethical behavior in the training field, and contributing to comprehensive quality and credibility for the training profession.
Dr. Al Maadeed noted that this major achievement reflects the efforts made and the great interest in developing education and training in the countries of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), and confirms the position of the center as a pioneering institution in the field of education and training, and its continuous endeavor to advance education and develop teachers and trainers of the ABEGS member states.
It also represents a clear message that the Center strives to provide an advanced and sophisticated educational environment that meets the needs of society and ensures the qualification of educational staff with the best methods and practices, she added.
This accreditation means that teachers and trainers in the ABEGS member states would benefit from high-quality training programs that guarantee the continuous improvement of their skills and prepare them to face future challenges, Al Maadeed added.
She highlighted plans for further new activities and events including the launch of the training capitals – a series of monthly seminars that will be presented from the capitals of ABEGS member states on topics related to training and education and the launch of a new Arab Educational Training Center digital platform.
For his part, director general of the Riyadh-based Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Alasmi, extended his sincere thanks to Their Majesties and Highnesses, leaders of the GCC states, for the generous interest and constant care the education sector is receiving from them, which have largely contributed to the progress and development of joint educational work in the GCC states in a variety of educational fields.
He extended his thanks to the State of Qatar for encouraging and caring for the higher education sector, along with its enduring support for ABEGS and affiliated offices, in addition to harnessing all essential potential for the office to discharge its functions and carry out its projects and programmes based on its strategic plans. He pointed out that the contemporary educational systems are keen to set a system of practical applications that aim to optimize teachers’ skills to be more efficient and productive.
Teachers are the bedrock of the educational process, especially that education today is not relying on teachers’ skills and practices only, but striving to have a perfect training techniques and strategies that are based on scientific underpinnings derived from educational and psychological frameworks, along with training, rehabilitation and preparation, Alasmi pointed out, indicating that optimization of teachers’ qualitative work is the key of performance and quality of education.
Alasmi added that ABEGS gives top priority to the training activities for teachers to upgrade their performance through its programmes, products, studies, and dissertations, as well as the training portfolio being designed in Doha, congratulating TEDC in Doha for receiving the aforementioned CPD accreditation which is considered one of the best accreditations in training activities.
Receiving such accreditation implies the ironclad commitment to international criteria of training and development, he said, expressing his hope for the accreditation to accomplish the intended objectives and pay off soon.
In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the margins of the celebrations, Director of the Arab Center for Educational Training for the Gulf States, Dr. Fatima Ghanem Al Maadeed, said the CPD has a substantial value in the constant training, adding that looking for it was research-based, thoughtful, and took many steps, since it is consistent with the center’s requirements and is considered an indicator of the quality of work and performance.
She expressed her pride for receiving the accreditation in a short period of time, pointing out that the center has a thoroughly studied plan that includes numerous new training programmes pertinent to the needs of ABEGS members in the field of training, education and AI, as the center has embarked on an array of training courses in this field and will surely focus on leadership and educational management during the upcoming period.
In remarks to QNA, Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Alasmi noted the evolution of the educational system in Qatar and the rest of GCC states, in addition to the support, encouragement and the substantial financial allocations such qualitative projects, programmes and initiatives are receiving which largely help them develop and optimize education, indicating that Qatar is a good example for that.
