“Oman and Zanzibar Strengthen Bilateral Ties: Focus on Economic, Cultural, and Health Cooperation”
Dr. Jameel bin Droush Al-Shiqsi, from the College of Economics and Political Science at Sultan Qaboos University, succeeded in developing a modern algorithm in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, in collaboration with scientists from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
This algorithm represents a novel concept and is characterized by high scientific accuracy, surpassing many leading algorithms in this field. Currently, it is being tested with a research team from the University of Oxford to evaluate its ability to handle imbalanced data, which is often a common challenge in cybersecurity, medical, and financial data.
These collaborative research efforts reflect Sultan Qaboos University’s commitment to knowledge and innovative technology development, enhancing its position in the field of artificial intelligence while striving for continuous progress and improving people’s lives in Oman and beyond.
It’s worth mentioning that the algorithm has been named “Al-Rustaq,” in honor of the Al-Rustaq Governorate in the South Al Batinah region, the birthplace of Dr. Jameel Al-Shiqsi. The name Al-Rustaq symbolizes strength and fortification, reflecting the exceptional capability of the algorithm in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
