Twenty Zubair Corporation employees join national leadership development programme

Muscat: Twenty employees from the Zubair Corporation’s (Z-Corp) group companies joined the national leadership development programme (Etimad), devised for middle and upper management positions. Held under the supervision of the Ministry of Manpower, Etimad is supported by the government’s Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit (ISFU).

Etimad, which empowers Omanis to be able to take middle and upper management positions in the private sector, came as one of the initiatives emerging from the recommendations of the labour market and employment lab of the National Economic Diversification Programme (Tanfeedh).

Building on its achievements of empowering human capital across the group of companies, The Zubair Corporation’s (Z-Corp) selected 20 of its national talents to partake in the recently held initiative Etimad. The Etimad programme aims to train and qualify 10,000 Omanis working in the private sector while improving the level of their leadership and supervisory skills. This specialised programme has been designed in partnership with professional global and local institutions.

Funded by the government under the supervision of the Ministry of Manpower Etimad incorporates the best training practices adopted through Takatuf — the training partner — and leadership training strategies accredited by the Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL).

The Zubair Corporation, which selected 20 talents to take part in the Etimad programme, set the highest number of members among the participating private sector companies. The participation in the programme encouraged Z-Corp’s talents’ commitment to performing, elevated their motivational curve to accomplish their leadership development journey thereby boost the Zubair Corporation brand as the employer of choice.

Formal session

A formal session was held recently at the corporate office under the auspices of Hani Mohammed Al Zubair, Chairman, The Zubair Automotive Group and board member, Z-Corp to acknowledge this commendable feat, encourage talents commitment, elevate their motivational curve to accomplish their leadership development journey. The event was attended by top executives and employees of the Zubair group of companies.

Congratulating the participants, Hani Mohammed Al Zubair said, “We are proud to have sent our talents to participate in the highly specialised Etimad programme being executed by the government. Enabling Omani cadres to take up leadership positions in the private sector is one of the national priorities that the government seeks to achieve.

“The Zubair Corporation is aligned with the government’s strategy and intention to promote Omanis to high management positions. We support every opportunity available that assists in the development of leadership skills and capacity of the talented employees of our group companies. Z-Corp is firmly committed to developing a strong human capital foundation by adopting effective HR leading practices.”

Stressing the importance of encouraging such positive collaborations that will enrich the national talents competencies and positions their conglomerate as a high competent player in the market, Z-Corp has emphasised that throughout the years, it has recognised progressive learning and development initiatives as a strategic tool for the organisation’s continuity growth, aligning talents developments in-line with the business needs and current market dynamics. This has served as the prime source for translating its human capital into the competent workforce to prosper, progress and achieve success at a higher level of job responsibilities, across the group companies.

The talents who participated have been encouraged to exhibit the knowledge that they have grasped and applied their learnings at the workplace. This will elevate their productivity, functioning, and the overall performance of the organisation.

During the session held at the corporate office, talents presented a brief on the selection process, learning syllabus and training methodology. They thanked the shareholders and the management for providing such empowerment opportunity.
